Technological Education
Objectives:
Students will develop computer based design skills in a variety of visual media through their years at Castlebrooke SS. The focus of all courses, for all grade levels, will be to follow design processes, which include; research layout design, concept development through to creation of the final design. Students will be encouraged to evaluate and collaborate with classmates to strengthen their design sense and technical skills. Self-evaluation of their own designs will be ongoing and is an important ability in determining the quality of their work and the impact it has on an audience or consumer.
Students will create and maintain an online website portfolio to illustrate their creative skills development. Portfolios have become an important consideration for admittance to Post Secondary media production programs or workplace opportunities. Students will showcase their skills development as they progress through their years of Communications Technology projects at Castlebrooke SS.
