Floorplan drawings are how people make decisions when purchasing a new home
Stage 1 Research Requirements:
- Bedroom wall and floor materials and colours (ie: carpet, wood, wallpaper, paint, brick, glass etc.)
- Furniture items (ie: bed, dressers, night stands, computer/work desk and chair, couches and chairs, electronics, and any other decorative items that might suit each students room.)
- Students should have a minimum of 15 images to visually represent their dream bedroom style.
- All of the above images should be downloaded and saved to their new “student #” folders on the computer.
- Students must then create a rough sketch with paper and pencil of their dream bedroom floor plan. Students can reference lesson/project resources from this link: http://elsiecommtech.weebly.com/architectural-design.html
- Students must include the following items with labels:
- Door
- Min. 2 Windows
- Main bedroom area (bed, night stands, dresser etc.)
- Washroom (toilet, sink, shower/bath)
- Closet
- Computer/Work desk and chair
- Lounging area (could have couch, chairs, tv, stereo, gaming centre etc.)
Stage 1 Exemplar - Level 4
Organized - good use of space. photos don't overlap. Sclae of images support the scale of furnishings. Includes several different areas of the room.
Stage 2 Requirements:
Room Dimensions - 40' x 35' maximum (approximately 1400 sq/ft)
Room Elements: students must include the following items with labels:
Dimensions - must dimension all walls (exterior and interior) and windows in to nearest foot (') and inch (")
