Assignment Overview
In this unit you will be sketching and 3D modelling a winter postcard scene. This will serve as your initial design stage. You will combining basic shapes in sketching which will represent your final design.
Your final 3D postcard MUST have a close (but not exact) connection to your sketch.
Moving to Maya software you will create your scene in 3D (x,y,z axis). When composing your scene you will apply the composition concept of "rule of thirds" to place your objects within the frame.
You will create depth to your scene by placing objects in the foreground/middle ground/background. Simply stated, some objects will appear to be closer to the viewer/camera than others.
You will submit the following:
1. A concept sketch of your own unique postcard design
2. A "wireframe" view of your design in Maya
3. A high quality "rendered" view of your final design
Your presentation will be submitted as one document created in a .pdf. You will also submit your final version of your Maya project file
