The legal use of "copyrighted" content is covered under Copyright Law of Canada
All media on the internet (or sourced elsewhere) is owned by the content owners. These can be individuals or companies who have created the creative content or purchased the rights.
To use downloaded media on school projects all of the following conditions below must be met: 1. Used for educational and research purposes - can't download media for your own use - ie. music for your personal device 2. Only a portions of content can be used - (eg. part of a song) 3. Cannot post the media outside the closed PDSB network - ie. post to youtube 4. Must cite the creators of the content - usually in the credits ie. Music company Artist name(s) Song name
Remember...downloading content such as movies and music for personal use breaks copyright laws.
Just because you can download the media does not mean you have the "rights" to use it It's stealing Don't do it
