Purpose of a film treatment is to create a story and character outline of your film idea.

The Treatment
This quote summarizes the challenge of writing a Treatment. It needs to be relatively short in length but precise in ideas to convey a sense of intrigue and interest. The goal is to capture the attention and interest of the reader to convince them you have a good idea to pursue.
The Treatment is completed in written form. You may think of it as an outline for your film. the treatment will need to use engaging and descriptive languae to excite the reader. At the same time it must be done so using an "economy of words." The challenge is to use exciting/meaningful words in you story summary without going through the entire story. Think of this like you sittting at home and deciding whaich movies you want to rent (ie. pay 6$ to watch)! How do you make that decision as to what to invest you money and time into?
Logline
Genre only tells part of the story - it won't make it worth watching. The first thing you are likely to do is read the 1 or 2 sentences "logline" of the film. This is a description of the main plot and main characters of the film. You should also try to But you are teasing people not writing beyond a couple of lines so that it becomes a "spoiler for the film.

- Use active/action words
- Use descriptive words - make characters unique - avoid characters being normal, typical, average...
- Hint at a conflict or twist in the plot
- Don't be wordy or include too many ideas/details in the summary - you are not telling the story of the whole film - you are hitting on the important information to set-up the movie for the audience
